Kaarea’s pasta bolognese recipe

Pasta bolognese is a quick and easy everyday dish. In Kaarea’s school-style recipe, most of the meat is replaced with ground chicken, significantly reducing the dish’s carbon footprint. With this recipe, you can easily enjoy this tasty meal at home!

School-style pasta bolognese

4 servings

2 celery stalks
2 carrots
2 garlic cloves
1 yellow onion
3 tbsp olive or rapeseed oil
800 g canned chopped tomatoes or tomato purée
1 beef stock cube
1 tsp crushed black pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried oregano
400 g ground chicken
100 g ground beef

  1. Chop the celery, carrots, garlic cloves, and yellow onion.
  2. Heat the oil in a pot and cook the vegetables for 3–5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes, beef stock, and all the spices. Let the sauce simmer for about 30–35 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a frying pan and cook the ground meats, then stir them into the sauce.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve with whole-grain pasta and a fresh salad.
