No two days are the same for a service supervisor

I’ve been with Kaarea’s catering services for five years now. For the last four, I’ve been a service supervisor at Salo hospital. We prepare around 850 meals every day, all year round, and sometimes work can feel like a bit of a challenge as it never stops, not even for Christmas. But on the other hand, our job is to bring food and festive cheer to people who are ill at Christmas.

When you’re a service supervisor, no two days or situations are the same. Luckily, I have a great team that I can rely on. Kaarea is also a good size for staff to be able to have a say in our work. We have a suitable balance of support and freedom.

I have settled in well and got to know my colleagues. The atmosphere is great, and everyone feels appreciated. Hopefully more young people join the industry.
